AC Milan will have to be perfect defensively when they host Premier League side Liverpool in their Champions League opener at San Siro, manager Paulo Fonseca (51) said on Monday. An incredible double stop from David Raya (29) helped Arsenal to a goalless draw against Atalanta in their opening match day of the Champions League at the Gewiss Stadium. The only true moment of action in the first half came in the opening quarter-hour, as Bukayo Saka whipped in a free-kick from the edge of the area, forcing Atlanta goalkeeper Marco Carnesecchi into a fine low stop.

Gabriel Magalhaes’ (26) header was the difference in the 65th Premier League (PL) North London derby as Arsenal came out 1-0 victors over Tottenham Hotspur, earning their third consecutive away head-to-head win. While Arsenal spent the early stages trying to settle without their absentees, Spurs immediately got to work trying to take advantage and find an opener.

Juventus returned to European action in spectacular style, as Kenan Yildiz inspired them to a 3-1 win over PSV in the League Phase of the UEFA Champions League at the Allianz Stadium. PSV started with the confidence of a team that had comfortably won all of their opening five matches in the Eredivisie, but were soon blown away by a blistering six-minute spell of domination from the home side.

A late strike from Denzel Dumfries (28) spared Inter Milan’s blushes to ensure the Serie A champions recovered from a goal down to claim a hard-fought 1-1 draw with AC Monza, who are without a win in 13 league games since March. The Biancorossi came into this clash following an inauspicious start to the season, which yielded two draws and one defeat.
