BMW has recently released a video depicting the G90 and roomier G99 showcasing their specs on a frozen lake in Sweden. It’s quite astonishing how even at -31.5 degrees Celsius,both machines start up and switch gears perfectly without hindrances. The German automaker had to ensure that all mechanical and electronic bits could withstand such extreme cold. 

The cars have a landscape-oriented touchscreen infotainment system with gloss black bezels. Just under it are three physical buttons for the hazards: the max A/C for the windshield, and a max rear window defogger. 

The aforementioned setup is awkwardly similar to the lesser 5ers and the zero-emission i5. Also, the digital instrument cluster should mirror that of the 5 series and i5 as well. The cluster measures 12.3 inches and is dubbed the information display, whereas the 14.9 inch touchscreen is called the control display. 

Also, despite being wider than the i5 and the 5er, the two M5 twins sweeten the deal with an M-specific AWD system. M x Drive comprises an electronically controlled multi-plate clutch. In the current-gen M3 and M4, there is no fixed torque split between the front and rear axles because M xDrive continuously shifts it between them. 

The sport setting of these cars makes it interesting as it not only allows more slip outback for extra oversteer but also sends more power to the front axle when required, which can land you into trouble if you aren’t keen enough. This is similar to the M3 and M4, as well as the sedan F90. 

BMW has a special relationship with torque transmission, for BMW knows how to calibrate it for both comfort and sportiness, unlike any other automaker that uses the 8 HP. The 8HP is a torque converter automatic that premiered in 2008 and is praised for being one of the best automatics. 

The machines will hereby produce a horsepower of about 718 hp,577 for the combustion engine, and 194 for the electric motor. In regard to curb weight, the chances are that the sedan could tip the scales at a staggering 2,435 kilograms. 

The heaviest and most powerful M5 ever produced will enter production in two phases. The sedan will start rolling off the assembly line in July 2024. And the anticipated heavy M5 touring will follow suit in November 2024, which is basically this year, and by 2025, the first units should be ready for shipping.
