After a challenging road, Cassie is beginning to feel loved. In response to CNN's release of alleged 2016 surveillance footage featuring Sean "Diddy" Combs assaulting the "Me & U" singer, she is expressing gratitude.

Cassie began her May 23 Instagram post with the words, "Thank you for all of the love and support from my family, friends, strangers, and those I have yet to meet," Cassie, who was in and out of a relationship with the rapper for more than ten years, beginning in 2007, said. "The outpouring of love has created a place for my younger self to settle and feel safe now, but this is only the beginning."

"The problem is domestic violence," she went on. I never imagined being the person I became when it broke me down. I am better now after a lot of work, but I will always be getting better from my past."

The 37-year-old continued by saying that all she is asking of everyone is for them to believe victims "the first time." It takes courage, as she pointed out, to speak up. Additionally, she stated, "Tell the truth out of a situation that you were powerless in." "I offer my hand to those who are still living in fear."

She continued, "Reach out to your folks; don't cut them off. This is too much for one person to bear alone."

Cassie, who is married to Alex Fine and has two daughters, Frankie, 4, and Sunny, 2, ended her letter by saying that she is still in the process of healing.

"But this support means everything to me," she stated in a letter. "Thank you."
