Kourtney Kardashian is speaking up about a terrifying experience she had while pregnant. The Kardashians actress revealed what transpired before and after her emergency fetal surgery in September during the season five premiere. She had son Rocky with husband Travis Barker in November.
In the episode from May 23, she recalled, "We had planned a scan at home, so that all the kids could see the baby." "The physician performing the scan at the residence is a high-risk physician who pays close attention to detail and thoroughness. He also mentioned wanting me to see a few specialists after something struck his attention."
After her checkups, she found out she would have to have the baby operated on the following morning, which she described as "stressful" and "terrifying."
Despite without disclosing the specific concern identified by the scan, Kourtney mentioned that it materialized rapidly.
"It was timed miraculously. That prevented all of that," the 45-year-old said. "My physician says there's nothing you did incorrectly. It is unrelated to age. That was just an extremely unusual occurrence."
The reality star, who also has children with her ex-husband Scott Disick, including Mason Disick, 14, Penelope Disick, 11, and Reign Disick, 9, had already undergone the treatment before Travis arrived because "they had to do it right away."
Only later was Kourtney able to comprehend the terrifying circumstances.
"There's some superpower that I have—that in emergency situations, I get really calm," she said. "Okay, I can take a deep breath," I thought to myself as soon as we departed. I might weep. I could remove it."
Kourtney claimed that during the latter two months of her pregnancy, she stayed largely bedridden and kept low.
"They had to go into the surgery because there's a hole in the amniotic sac," she said to the Hulu cameras. "I guess I'm not permitted to drive. I am not permitted to stand for longer than twenty minutes. Really, I won't be leaving the house."
The creator of Poosh also said that although the pair had "trauma" from the procedure, they never lost hope for their little baby.
"I just feel so grateful that how everything played out and for the doctors that really helped make the best decisions that really saved our baby," she said. "After this, I thought, 'God is in control.'" We're doing fine. "This is a miracle, and we will remain extremely optimistic."
