On Sunday, while traveling from Miami to Los Angeles, Mike Tyson experienced a medical scare, which his representatives confirmed to on Monday.
Tyson's representatives said, "Thankfully, Mr. Tyson is doing great." Thirty minutes before landing, an ulcer flared up and caused him to feel queasy and lightheaded. He expresses gratitude to the medical personnel for their assistance.
The terrifying scene was first described in detail by In Touch Weekly, which called it an "apparent medical scare."
A source informed the outlet, "Mike had some sort of medical emergency on the plane, and paramedics boarded." "The flight issued an announcement asking for a doctor—the message even appeared on everyone's screens—before the paramedics arrived."
The publication did not know whether Tyson, 57, was removed from the flight, which had been delayed two hours in Miami.
Tyson's representatives clarified in an email to The Post that Tyson did not require medical attention, but rather that the delay was caused by an air conditioning problem.
According to In Touch Weekly, the announcement requesting medical professionals was heard by the passengers approximately half an hour before the plane touched down in Los Angeles.
Passengers' departure from the aircraft was delayed by 25 minutes due to the reported medical emergency.
"He was traveling in first class, but we were seated in the exit row, and the stewardess was quite talkative. A source told In Touch Weekly, "They asked us to stay on the plane and land so the paramedics could enter." "He's a very important passenger, so we want to make sure he's OK," she remarked. Even though I knew it was him, I simply mouthed the name "Mike Tyson," and she nodded in agreement.
Tyson, who will turn 58 next month, will make his ring comeback on July 20 in Dallas against Jake Paul.
Although he fought Roy Jones Jr. to a draw in an exhibition in November 2020, the former heavyweight champion didn't participate in a sanctioned fight until June 2005.
Earlier this month, Tyson declared he would defeat Paul in a fight that the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations has officially recognized as a heavyweight match.
He gave up smoking marijuana and having sex as part of his training regimen.
