Following the Johnny Wactor's May 25 shooting death in downtown Los Angeles, where he played Brando Corbin on General Hospital from 2020 to 2022, his former co-stars paid tribute to him. The actor was 37 years old.

Actress Kirsten Storms, who plays soap opera Maxie Jones, posted on Instagram on May 26. "I'm in a state of disbelief and complete sadness," she wrote. "I don't typically do posts like this, but Johnny was such a special person, and it feels important (for me) to put these words out there."

"To @johnnywactor's mother and family, I am deeply sorry for your loss," the former Disney Channel employee went on. "I have no idea how you must be feeling at this moment. I'm praying and thinking about you.

Kirsten, a Zenon star, shared her deep bond with her late friend Johnny, describing him as a rare, real individual who was a safe space for open conversations about personal issues. Kirsten also noted that Johnny genuinely cared about people and their journeys, and he worked hard and had respect for everyone in his building. She expressed her heartache at the loss of her friend's life, stating that her heart hurts as she mourns his loss. Johnny's life was stolen from him, leaving Kirsten heartbroken.

Scarlett Wactor, Johnny's mother, told NBC News that her son was killed in a robbery attempt that took place in Southern California.

According to LAPD Media Relations, the victim "interrupted three male suspects attempting to remove a catalytic converter," which prompted them to call at around three in the morning local time.

Authorities claim that one of the suspects pulled out a handgun and shot the victim. In a car, the suspects left the scene.

Actress Laura Wright, who plays the role of Carly Corinthos in the soap opera, posted a heartfelt message on X on May 26. What a remarkable man. Love and prayers are extended to Johnny's family.

The late star was also honored by the official Instagram account of the show. A statement on their page dated May 26 said, "The entire General Hospital family is heartbroken to hear of Johnny Wactor's untimely passing." "He was genuinely unique and a pleasure to work with every single day. His loved ones are in our prayers and thoughts during this trying time."
