A woman shocked radio listeners after calling into the Melbourne breakfast show "Fox's Fifi, Fev & Nick" to confess she ate her grandmother's ashes. The confession occurred during Tuesday's 'Cashfessional' segment, leaving hosts Brendan 'Fev' Fevola, Fifi Box, and Nick Cody stunned.
Cheyenne from Narre Warren bluntly revealed her startling secret after Fevola, 43, asked what she would like to confess. "I ate my Nan," she said. "My Nan passed away in August last year and got cremated. My family and myself were grieving, so we went over to Mum's one night and we thought to cheer her up again… let's eat Nan."
Explaining her bizarre behavior, Cheyenne said she placed some of her grandmother’s ashes in a container and consumed them. The hosts gasped in shock as she continued to reveal that she also fed some of the ashes to her unsuspecting brother by incorporating them into a pasta dish.
"After I did it once, I got Mum to do it because I didn't want to be alone in it," Cheyenne admitted. "But that's not the only part of the story… this is the part I've told nobody. My brother got out of jail not too long ago…" she explained.
"Oh God," Fevola said, dreading where the story might go next. Cheyenne revealed that when her ex-convict brother came to stay with her, she thought it would be funny to prank him. "I put some of Nan's ashes in the pasta sauce," she said, giggling over the phone.
Fifi Box expressed her shock at the confession. "This is so much for me. I'm taking this on board…" she said, before composing herself to ask a follow-up question. "Have you stopped eating her?" Fifi asked.
"I'll say yes for your sake, Fifi," Cheyenne responded. "I eat her just for fun." Insisting she feels closer than ever to her Nan, Cheyenne concluded, "Nan will live on through me forever." Fevola summed up everyone's feelings in the studio, saying, "I'm a little bit shocked. I don't get shocked too often."
