Internet negativity is becoming apparent to Miranda Derrick. Since the May premiere of Netflix's documentary Dancing for the Devil: The 7M TikTok Cult, TikToker has been in the spotlight. Her family claimed that three years prior, she severed her relationship with them after joining the talent management company 7M Films.
The organization was started by Robert Shinn, a pastor in Los Angeles with connections to the contentious Shekinah Church, whom Miranda joined with her husband, James Derrick.
In a June 10 Instagram post, Miranda stated, "My husband and I felt safe before this documentary." "Now that this documentary is out, we feel like our lives have been put in danger."
Miranda has shared her experiences with stalking and death threats she and her brother James have received. She describes how they have been followed in their cars and how someone threatened to harm them if they saw them on the street or walking on the sidewalk. Miranda also reveals that the documentary has further strained her relationship with her parents and sister, Melanie Wilking, questioning how they believed it would help them or their relationship.
The family has been working to mend their relationship with Miranda, who they claim made contact with them again last year after a long break, as the documentary discusses. However, Miranda stated after the documentary that she was offended by their participation in the film.
She told her readers, "I'm not posting as much, and things are a little slower." "Please be patient with me; I'll get through this. The end of the tunnel is in sight."
Miranda and James, the parents of TikTok influencer Miranda, have been accused of being unsupportive of her religious views, according to their sister Melanie. Melanie, who attended two of Miranda's private dinners and services, found red flags and alleged that the family was not supportive of her religious views. She also claimed that the organization wanted to rip them apart after she stopped attending their events. Miranda's sister, who is also a TikToker, defended her sister's actions, stating that the situation is "look where we are."
