In a  revelation, sources close to Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck claim the power couple is calling it quits on their nearly two-year marriage, with Lopez's self-described "love addiction" playing a major role in the split.

"Jen has been open about her dating issues in the past, including being addicted to the validation of being in a relationship," one insider told Entertainment Tonight. "As much as she loved Ben, that addiction started kicking back in over the last few months."

The insider added that Lopez's constant need for intense romantic affirmation put a significant strain on Affleck. "Ben was supportive at first, but it just became too much for him. He felt like he could never make her happy enough."

Rumors of relationship troubles between the A-list pair first surfaced in late May when they reportedly got into a "intense fight" while vacationing in France. Multiple sources indicated Lopez was pushing for another lavish wedding ceremony to renew their vows and rededicate their marriage.

"Jen wanted this over-the-top celebration almost as a do-over for their low-key Vegas wedding," an anonymous source told Page Six. "But Ben just wasn't feeling it at all."

The two initially tied the knot in July 2022 in a small Las Vegas ceremony before hosting a bigger wedding party a month later in Georgia. But apparently that wasn't enough for the Jenny From the Block singer.

"Marriage has always been hugely important to Jen," said a longtime friend who asked to remain anonymous. "She wants constant romantic gestures and grand displays of commitment to make up for all the heartbreak she went through over the years when it came to love."

Representatives for Lopez have been tight-lipped on the status of her marriage, but she has been open about her psychological hang-ups surrounding relationships in several past interviews and her most recent autobiography True Love.

"Why is it so hard for me to allow happiness in my life?" Lopez wrote in her memoir in 2014. "Why am I getting this holes through addictions and compulsions, constantly searching for something else? I am a love addict."

In a 2022 interview with Rolling Stone, the Marry Me star reiterated those sentiments: "I used to really give my all to relationships in an unhealthy way. I'd lose myself in them. Now I know to stay grounded in me."

While Lopez and Affleck have not directly addressed the swirling divorce speculation, a source told People magazine: "There has been a lot of tension between them lately. Trust issues, jealousy, frequent disagreements - it's taken a toll on both of them."

Affleck's personal struggles with alcoholism and past failed marriages have also been cited as potential factors contributing to the marriage unraveling.

The insider added, "Their friends honestly thought this reunion fairytale was too good to be true. Sadly, it seems like it was."

Representatives for the couple and major studios involved in their current and future projects declined to comment on the record as of this writing. But behind-the-scenes rumblings indicate two of Hollywood's biggest names may be headed for a shocking permanent split.
