In a frightening incident, country music icon Carrie Underwood's sprawling 400-acre estate in Franklin, Tennessee, caught fire on Father's Day, prompting a swift response from local firefighters. Fortunately, the 41-year-old singer, her husband Mike Fisher, and their two sons, Isaiah and Jacob, escaped the ordeal unharmed.
According to a representative for Underwood, the fire broke out on the property late Sunday night but was swiftly contained before causing significant damage. "There was a fire on the property on Sunday night, which was quickly contained," the rep told Us Weekly. "There was no fire damage to the primary residence, and the family and their pets were unharmed."
The Williamson County Fire & Rescue department provided further details, revealing that the blaze originated in the garage area of the estate. Multiple fire crews from all eight stations were dispatched to the scene around 9:42 p.m. after receiving an initial fire alarm call. Upon arrival, firefighters found flames emanating from the garage and immediately sprang into action to prevent the fire from spreading to the main house.
Utilizing a 10,000-gallon water tank located on the property, the firefighters were able to effectively douse the flames and contain the fire within the garage area. However, they remained on site for an extended period, monitoring and extinguishing any potential hot spots that could reignite the blaze within the garage walls.
While the cause of the fire remains under investigation, local media reports suggest that authorities are examining the possibility of an off-road utility vehicle (UTV) parked near the garage as the potential source of the incident.
Underwood and her former NHL player husband, Mike Fisher, purchased the expansive property in 2011 for a reported $3 million, with the intention of building their dream home. Over the years, they have transformed the land into a luxurious retreat, complete with a main residence, a barn, horse stables, and extensive gardens that Underwood has affectionately referred to as her "happy place."
The "Before He Cheats" singer frequently shares glimpses of her idyllic home life on social media, showcasing the family's cherished moments spent on the picturesque estate. In the aftermath of the fire, Underwood has yet to publicly address the incident, likely taking time to recover from the scare and express gratitude for her family's safety.
