Shannen Doherty is concerned that she won't receive her spousal support money. According to court documents obtained by People on June 20, the Beverly Hills, 90210 alum, who was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer in 2020, claims she has not been granted access to the financial records regarding her ex-husband Kurt Iswarienko's archive of photography work, which has slowed down the process of her receiving spousal support.
"It is simply not right that Kurt be permitted to prolong our divorce in hopes that I die before he is required to pay me," Shannen said in the papers, according to People, "while he continues to live his life and shirk his responsibilities to his dying wife of more than 11 years."
Due to her diminishing Charmed residuals and loss of her SAG health insurance as a result of her incapacity to act throughout her health issues, the 53-year-old is requesting $15,434 per month from Kurt, 49.
Kurt's attorney refuted the allegation in the lawsuit, stating that he made a settlement offer to Shannen in October, who had previously fought breast cancer before receiving her 2020 cancer diagnosis, and expressed the intention to "put the case behind them and move forward." However, Shannen alleges in her complaint that she is not the only one who has withheld his financial data. On top of that, the Charmed star claims Kurt has been spending "thousands of dollars at medical spas, jewellery stores, Gucci, and on flights" and that he doesn't have enough money to support her.
After 11 years of marriage, Shannen filed for divorce from Kurt in April 2023. Her representative said, "Divorce is the last thing Shannen wanted," as he explained to E! News at the time that the choice was made out of need. Regretfully, she believed she had no other choice."
A few months later, the host of the Let's Be Clear podcast, who had previously wed Rick Salomon in the early 2000s and Ashley Hamilton in the 1990s, opened up about their split, accusing Kurt of having an affair while she was still battling cancer.
Furthermore, Shannen has been open about the lesson she's learned from calling it quits on her third marriage.
She declared, "I love the idea of marriage," to her longtime friend and ex-fiance Rob Weiss on the April 15 Let's Be Clear podcast. "I believe in that, but after my last brutal marriage, what it taught me is that a piece of paper doesn't really mean anything."
Adding, "It doesn't stop a person from lying."
