Ellen DeGeneres has cancelled four dates on her "Ellen’s Last Stand… Up" comedy tour. Ticketmaster’s website lists shows in Dallas, San Francisco, Seattle, and Chicago as the ones affected, stating, “Unfortunately, the event organiser has had to cancel your event.” The reasons for the cancellations remain unclear as other scheduled performances in these cities are still set to proceed. DeGeneres' tour, marking her return to the spotlight after the end of her talk show, is scheduled to run until August 17.

The tour, announced in May, has been promoted as DeGeneres' final stand-up comedy venture, giving fans a last chance to see her perform live. Her return comes two years after "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" concluded in 2022, following allegations of a toxic workplace and misconduct by executive producers. Three producers were fired, and DeGeneres issued an on-air apology, acknowledging her role and responsibility: “I’m in a position of privilege and power and I take responsibility for what happens at my show.”

In June, DeGeneres began her tour, revisiting stand-up comedy and addressing her experiences, including the public fallout from her talk show. She has candidly spoken about being "kicked out of show business" twice: once when she came out as gay on her 1990s sitcom "Ellen," and again in 2020 amidst the show's controversy. DeGeneres humorously referenced her public persona, saying, “The ‘be kind’ girl wasn’t kind. I became this one-dimensional character who gave stuff away and danced up steps.”

She has continued to work on new material and plans to film a Netflix special during the tour. Reflecting on her career and the recent years, she stated, “There’s such extremes in this business, people either love you and idolise you or they hate you, and those people somehow are louder.”

DeGeneres, whose television career began with her popular sitcom "Ellen" in 1994, received the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2016 for her contributions to entertainment and advocacy. Her representatives and Live Nation have yet to comment on the tour cancellations.
