Kim Kardashian recently revealed the gruesome details behind a shocking injury to her fingers, which she described as "more painful than childbirth." The 43-year-old reality star sparked curiosity after being spotted with bandaged fingers since March, and she finally disclosed the cause on the latest episode of The Kardashians.

The incident occurred at her home when she was closing a heavy sliding door in her bathroom. Kim explained, "My big sliding door to my bathroom that opens up and you see the whole window in my bathroom? I was shutting it and there's no latch. You have to pull the inside of the mechanics out." As she was shutting the door, her son Saint ran in with chips. Distracted, Kim tried to stop the door with her hand, but it slammed shut, causing severe injury. "It went boom and I was like," she recounted, mimicking a gagging gesture.

"I literally looked at my hand and I fell to the ground." Her index and middle fingers were visibly injured, with the tip of the middle finger sliced off and a shard of bone sticking out. "I just grabbed the table and got on my knees 'cause I just saw all this blood and it was like my bone sticking out a little bit and I just was like, 'Get me help.' I was just like, 'I need ice.' Like I didn't scream, I didn't anything, I just was like, 'Help.'"

Kim immediately rushed to a plastic surgeon, who warned her that her nail might never grow back. She humorously responded, "I'd invent a nail implant if needed." She also described the extent of her pain, saying, "I wanted to die. You can't describe the pain but your whole body goes into shock. It was more painful than childbirth."

At the doctor's office, Kim removed her splint to reveal the bloody stump at the top of her finger. The doctor reassured her that she would not need an amputation but noted, "It could have been really bad." Kim has been using a hyperbaric chamber to aid in her recovery, dedicating several hours a day to the process.

Despite the injury, Kim remains determined not to let it slow her down saying, "I have s--t to do. This isn't going to slow me down."
