After her recent ACL surgery, WNBA rookie Cameron Brink shared a hilarious video from her hospital recovery. The 22-year-old Los Angeles Sparks player posted on Instagram, showing herself in a hospital gown, interacting with her parents, Greg and Michelle, and her boyfriend Ben Felter.
Still groggy from sedation, Brink delivered a series of loopy and funny moments on camera. "I've been sleeping. I've just been chilling. I woke up and I'm so chill," she said, repeating, "I'm chilling."
The 6-foot-3 star amusingly declared she had reached a new level of relaxation post-surgery. "I'm in another dimension and I'm chilling. You could sit me here all day and I'm just relaxing," she mumbled, sipping cranberry-orange juice.
When her mom asked what show she was excited to watch that night, Brink responded with "Love Island," referring to Peacock's reality series hosted by Ariana Madix. An off-camera voice praised her performance during the surgery, and Brink, still under the influence of medication, humorously commented, "My eyes feel like they're going this way and that way."
In her caption, Brink thanked her friends, family, and fans for their support during her recovery. "Chillin on the road to recovery thank you all for the well wishes:) I'm feeling extremely encouraged, supported & ready to make small strides everyday," she wrote, adding "#delayednotdenied."
Brink, the second overall pick in this year's WNBA draft, had a stellar start to her rookie season before tearing her ACL in June during a game against the Connecticut Sun. The injury, which will sideline her for the rest of the season, came shortly after her selection to Team USA's 3x3 women's basketball team.
"This is hard to fathom but I know it will only make me stronger," she wrote on Instagram after the injury. "I will not be derailed and I will continue to love this life — I'm not defined by basketball, but it is something that I love deeply and I will work everyday to get back to it. It's not goodbye basketball it's just a see you later. I'm always so thankful for your thoughts and prayers. 💜💛 #delayednotdenied.
