With the release of her self titled album “Megan”, the Hot Girl Summer rapper Megan Thee Stallion has faced immense success with her album and tour. The tour began on May 14, 2024, in Minneapolis, United States and will conclude in Chicago on August 1, 2024, at the Lollapalooza festival. This is the first ever tour the rapper has headlined.
On Wednesday 17 July 2024, Megan was met with fellow rapper Tory Lanez fans waiting for her as she walked with a friend. Dressed in a yellow top, shorts and furry boots, fans chanted “Free Tory Lanez” with one fan capturing the incident and posting it on Instagram, captioning “Free Tory.”
As the chanting continued, Megan seemed unbothered till when she decided to cover her nose in disgust. After the video circulated on social media, being posted by blogs such as The ShadeRoom, fans came to Megan's defense. "I’m convinced that the reason why so many men protect and defend violent men and predators is because they see themselves in them," one wrote. “Download Jpay or write him a letter, Bc harassing her ain't gonna do nothing,” onother one wrote.”He shoots her & y'all antagonize her by saying Free him? Make it make sense.” Most fans commented on Megan's reaction, claiming that she handled the matter well.
On July 15, 2020, Tory Lanez, Megan Thee Stallion and her former bestie Kelsey Harris cruised through Los Angeles after attending Kylie Jenner's house party . After Megan and Tory got into a heated argument within the car, the 29-year-old rapper was shot in both feet.
Evidence during the trial showed that bullet fragments were removed from Meg's foot. After a long trial to determine whether the Canadian rapper, Tory Lanez, is innocent or not, he was found guilty of assault with a firearm, carrying a loaded firearm as well it being unregistered and negligent discharge of a firearm.
