Mia Blachard, born to Rod and Kristy Blanchard has been vocal in support of her half sister, Gypsy Rose Blanchard after being sentenced to 10 years in prison for conspiring and killing her mother DeeDee Blanchard, alongside her then boyfriend Nicholas Godejon.
After serving eight years of her term, Gypsy was released on December 28, 2023. The day after Gypsy was released, she shared a photo with Mia and captioned it, “Sister love.” Mia also shared a couple of pictures with Gypsy, their father Rod, their mother Kristy and Gypsy's ex-husband Ryan Anderson, during Gypsy's homecoming party.
“I feel sorry Gypsy didn’t get the life that I got to live,” Mia said in the documentary Broadcasting Gypsy's life. “I got to grow up with a loving father and a loving mother, I got to grow up going to school with my friends, hanging out with my friends, learning to do all these things and she never had that. That was taken away from her by her mother.” Mia Blanchard also went ahead to express that Gypsy being sentenced to 10 years in jail is a very long sentence and that in as much as Gypsy deserved to be in jail, she still needed help.
While Gypsy Rose was still in prison, she got engaged and married now ex-husband, Ryan Anderson. In as much as the pair constantly posted each other on social media and portrayed a very loving and warm relationship, there seemed to be too much being hidden from the public eye.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Gypsy Rose Blanchard told the outlet that she "doesn't regret the relationship " with Ryan Anderson, but she does "regret getting married in prison so fast.” After moving to stay with her parents, Gypsy was photographed with her ex-fiance, Ken Urker and they even got matching tattoos.
Mia Blanchard, in a recent clip of Gypsy's documentary, expressed how she truly feels about Ken and Gypsy's relationship. “A little different thing between Ryan and Ken for me is that Ken knew that Gypsy was still married. Where's your respect for Ryan? You may not like the guy at all,” she said.
She went ahead to say that what Gypsy did to Ryan shows a lot about her character. She also claims that Ken Urker was not trying to protect Gypsy in the best way, “How are you protecting her from what these people are going to say about her? How are you protecting her from what the world is gonna say?” She claims that what Ken and Gypsy did was make irrational decisions based on short-term happiness instead of thinking long-term.
