Love Island USA star Hannah Smith has been arrested on felony charges, including making terroristic threats and willful obstruction of a law enforcement officer. The 26-year-old reality TV contestant was taken into custody on September 30, 2024, at a Gracie Abrams concert in Atlanta, Georgia, for allegedly threatening to kill a police officer and his sister.
According to police reports, Smith was being escorted out of the Coca-Cola Roxy concert venue for disorderly behavior when she attempted to punch an officer. "As she was being escorted away from the Orange Deck parking structure and to her Uber, she attempted to punch me, with a closed fist, however, she did not make contact with me," the arresting officer stated.
While in handcuffs, Smith reportedly continued to kick the officer and later, while being transported to Cobb County Adult Detention Center, threatened to kill the officer and his sister multiple times, saying she would "commit a crime of violence" with the intent to terrorize the victims.
Smith, who appeared in the sixth season of Love Island USA, was charged with two felonies and was released on October 1 after posting an $8,000 bond. The conditions of her release include prohibitions on consuming alcohol or drugs, except for prescribed medications, and she must submit to random alcohol and drug tests at her own expense.
During the arrest, Smith allegedly also assaulted an emergency medical staff member who was present at the scene. According to the officer's report, "The staff worker advised she did not want to press charges." The officer also noted Smith's erratic behavior, stating, "She was yelling, cursing, and dropping items out of her purse," and acted as if she was "on a podcast or speaking to someone on her phone."
Despite the serious charges, Smith has continued to post on social media, though she has made no public statements regarding her arrest. Since her release, she has shared multiple photos on Instagram.
Smith first gained public attention during her appearance on *Love Island USA*, where she was initially coupled with Kendall Washington. However, she was eliminated on Day 10 of the show after failing to make a lasting connection with any of the contestants.
