Halsey, also known as Ashley Nicolette Frangipane, is a singer-songwriter and actress who gained attention through social media. At 17, she began writing music and became known for her parody of Taylor Swift's "I Knew You Were Trouble." Halsey chose her stage name as an anagram of her first name and a reference to the Halsey Street station of the New York City Subway in Brooklyn.
