Following allegations of sexual harassment and drug usage against him by formerReal Housewives Leah McSweeney and Brandi Glanville, Bravo has exonerated Andy Cohen.On Thursday, May 9, a network representative informed Deadline that the accusations made against Cohen, 55, by Glanville, 51, and McSweeney, 41, were “unsubstantiated". The Bravo spokesperson informed the site. The outside investigation into the recent allegations made by Brandi Glanville and Leah McSweeney against Andy Cohen has now been completed, and the claims were found to be unsubstantiated.
The talk show host and executive producer of the hit television series The Real Housewives, which made 51-year-old Glanville and 41-year-old McSweeney famous, was charged with a number of crimes, including drug and alcohol abuse and sexual harassment. The initial accusation came from Glanville, a former cast member of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, who in February wrote to NBCUniversal, Shed Media, and Shed's parent company Warner Bros. The letter expounded on Glanvilles allegations regarding a purported video that Cohen had provided her, which purportedly showed him inebriated and stated he desired to "sleep with another Bravo star" while "thinking" of her.
An investigation into the event was launched even though Cohen acknowledged the footage and expressed regret for the "joke" in a statement released through X later that day. Later that month, McSweeney, a former cast member of Real Housewives of New York City, filed a complaint alleging Cohen "rewards Housewives with whom he uses cocaine with more favorable treatment and edits", dealing Cohen a second setback.
The lawsuit further claimed that "Cohen uses cocaine with his employees on purpose to further promote a drug and alcohol abuse-friendly workplace culture, which results in a failure to accommodate employees who are disabled and who are trying to abstain from substances."
At the time, a representative for Cohen told The Hollywood Reporter that the claims were "completely false" and refuted them.
Housewives, including Lisa Vanderpump, have defended Andy Cohens name following McSweeneys filing. Vanderpump, who has been involved with Cohen for years, stated that no good edits were made on the show. She also confirmed that Cohen would not do anything like Andy doing coke, as she has seen him party with him in her business and home.
The clearing of Cohens name comes as Bravo announces that Watch What Happens Live! will be renewed for another season, along with other Bravo series.
