In the aftermath of the unprecedented security breach involving the French crown jewels theft, Laurence des Cars has officially resigned from her position as director of the Louvre. President Emmanuel Macron, who received her resignation, expressed support for the move, emphasizing that the museum must enter a new phase of "calm" and leadership to successfully implement necessary security upgrades and institutional modernization.

On the morning of 19 October last year, thieves used a stolen vehicle-mounted mechanical lift to gain access to the museum from a balcony close to the River Seine.

The four main suspects have been arrested, but the eight prized pieces of jewellery, worth an estimated 88m euros (£76m, $104m) have not been recovered.

"I don't do that anymore," Berry said, explaining that in the past women were often conditioned to reassure their partners even when the experience was not equally fulfilling. "Because what is that doing? That's putting his needs before our own."
