David Raya has won the 2023/2024 English Premier league castrol golden gloves. David Raya so far has made 16 clean sheets this season alone. Arsenal are expected to seal a permanent deal on the Brentford goalkeeper.

The Spanish goalkeeper becomes the best this season after joining from Brentford on loan. Arsenal have been eyeing to seal a permanent deal for the longest time possible for the Spanish goalkeeper. That is since October last year.

Arsenal are planning to invest 27 million Euros triggering buy option clause to keep David Raya for present and future. From Southport to Premier League Golden Glove winner, David Raya's journey has been a tough one.

It is not surprising how the Spanish managed to keep more clean sheets than any other goalkeeper in the premier league top flight after just a decade of playing in the National league. David Raya has been a talented sportsman with a lot of talent, skills and abilities to reckon. Abilities that have earned him top spot in Arsenal.

Winning The Golden Gloves in his first season as an Arsenal player has indeed been a great motivation to the Spanish international even after receiving harsh critics since replacing Aaron Ramsdale. Arsenal’s 3-0 win against Bournemouth and Everton conceding a goal against Luton made it easier for Raya to be awarded the Castrol Golden Gloves.

Raya's impressive form has been even witnessed in the midst of February and last month where he managed to keep six straight clean sheets in a row while playing away. In one of Arteta’s interviews he stated that it is indeed a huge success for the team to win the golden gloves with a few games still in.

“ It gives us a huge foundation to be closer to winning trophies. The contribution from everybody including David obviously is really good.” Mikel Arteta added. David Raya has benefited effectively from playing behind the best defensive combo in the premier league this season. With outstanding performances from William Saliba and Gabriel has made his golden gloves achievement even more possible.
