Manchester City's Phil Foden (24) has been crowned the 2022/23 PFA Player of the Year, while Chelsea's Cole Palmer (22) took home the Young Player of the Year award at Manchester's Opera House on Tuesday evening. It marks the first time since the 2009/10 season that both top men's awards have been won by English players.

Chelsea are set to sign Atletico Madrid forward Joao Felix (24) in a deal which could see Blues midfielder Conor Gallagher (24) move to the Spanish club. Chelsea are reported to have agreed a $52 million fee with Atletico to bring the player back to Stamford Bridge. Felix had a disappointing six-month loan spell at Stamford Bridge in the second half of the 2022/23 season, scoring four goals in 20 appearances.

Germany goalkeeper Manuel Neuer, a 2014 World Cup winner, announced his retirement from international football on Wednesday. The 38-year-old Bayern Munich star played 124 matches for Germany, captaining his country 61 times. His final appearance came in the quarter-final loss to eventual champions Spain at Euro 2024.

Enzo Maresca (44), Chelsea's coach, discussed the arrival of Joao Felix (24) to the squad during his press conference ahead of the Conference League match with Servette on Wednesday, leaving the door open for more players to join a squad that already has 42 players. "First of all, because he's a good player, he's a talent.
