It seems that Tom Brady's roast was not exactly a hit with his entire family. Although he found most of the jokes on Netflix's The Greatest Roast of All Time amusing, the former NFL quarterback revealed that his kids took offense at a few of the gags.
He stated, "I loved when the jokes were about me," in the Pivot Podcast episode from May 14. "I felt they were a lot of fun. I wasn't pleased with how it affected my children."
Tom, who has a 16-year-old son named Jack with his former partner Bridget Moynahan and two children, 14-year-old Benjamin and 11-year-old Vivian, with ex-wife Gisele Bundchen, revealed that although he was interested in doing a roast, he didn't "see the full picture at the time."
"I wouldn't do that again," he stated, "because of the way that it affected actually the people that I care about the most in the world."
The 46-year-old, however, admits that going through that experience has taught him a "good lesson" about parenting and that "I'm gonna be a better parent going forward because of it."
And he's simply relieved that everyone who came had a good time because, in Tom's words, "If we're not laughing about things, we're crying." And I believe we ought to enjoy ourselves more."
Throughout the Netflix program on May 5, gags revolved around Tom's divorce from Gisele in 2022 and his breakup with Bridget in 2006, which occurred just months before the Blue Bloods actress revealed she was expecting Jack.
Nikki Glaser compared Tom Brady's NFL retirement to his relationship with Bridget Moynahan, stating that it's difficult to walk away from someone who is not your pregnant girlfriend. Will Ferrell also commented on the situation, stating that the last time Tom went deep, he ended up paying child support to Bridget Moynahan. Despite the criticism, Tom took it all in stride, stating that he enjoys being mocked.
