Benny Blanco envisions wedding bells in his future with Selena Gomez. During an appearance on The Howard Stern Show on Tuesday, May 14, the 36-year-old record producer shared insights about his relationship with the 31-year-old singer and actress and the direction he sees it heading.
Blanco recounted his romantic gesture for their first Valentine's Day, which included renting out a movie theater and getting all of Gomez's favorite foods. Impressed, Howard Stern remarked, "You are some boyfriend, you're knocking it out the park. I see love here, I'm predicting marriage."
"You and me both," Blanco responded. When Stern, 70, inquired if Blanco had a ring, the producer joked, "I don't have anything. I got no shoes on. I gotta get my act together."
Stern pressed further, asking, "When will you propose? You should make the announcement now. When are you going to propose to your very famous girlfriend Selena?"
Blanco, after a laugh, confessed, "When I look at her ... I'm always just like, I don't know a world where it could be better than this."
He also mentioned that their first anniversary is approaching, coinciding with Gomez's birthday on July 22, and hinted that he has "some really good stuff" planned for her.
Reflecting on their relationship, Blanco said, "People always said this to me, when you know you meet your best friend, she truly is my best friend." He praised Gomez, calling her "the coolest, nicest, sweetest," and added, "We laugh all day, she inspires me. I get home from work, I think I had a good day. I'm like, 'What did you do?' 'Oh, I just filmed this thing with Meryl Streep and then I went to a fundraiser and now I'm recording.' My day sounds like nothing compared to hers," he said with a laugh.
The couple confirmed their romance in December 2023 and made their public debut at the 2024 Emmys in January. Gomez affirmed their relationship by liking fan posts about them on Instagram and commenting on one, "He is my absolute everything in my heart."
