A month after announcing their divorce, Isla Fisher has expressed her gratitude for the support she has received from fans. The ‘Wedding Crashers’ star, who was married to Sacha Baron Cohen for 13 years, shared her appreciation in a heartfelt message on Instagram.

Fisher posted a photo of herself in a purple-printed dress and green denim jacket during a sunny outdoor outing to her Instagram Stories. Alongside the photo, she wrote, "Thank you for all your kindness and support", punctuated with a kissing emoji.

The former couple, who share three children, revealed they had separated last year in an April statement posted to their Instagram Stories. The post featured a photo of them in tennis gear and read, "After a long tennis match lasting over twenty years, we are finally putting our racquets down. In 2023 we jointly filed to end our marriage. We have always prioritized our privacy and have been quietly working through this change. We forever share in our devotion and love for our children. We sincerely appreciate your respecting our family's wish for privacy".

Although Fisher, 48, and Baron Cohen, 52, have occasionally shared glimpses of their life together, they generally kept their relationship private. In a 2022 interview with Australian Women's Weekly, Fisher explained her hesitance to discuss their marriage publicly, saying, "I get nervous talking about it because I feel like, by not having my relationship in the public domain and not having spoken about how we met or really talked about our marriage publicly, it's remained something private and valuable to me". Despite their privacy, Fisher did offer insights into their strong bond.

She emphasized the importance of friendship in a marriage. "If you marry someone that you have a really good friendship with, everything else seems to fall into place", she said. Fisher added, "You still get butterflies in your stomach and people sort of tell you that wears off after a few years. But when you're with the right person, actually it just doesn't".

Isla Fisher and Sacha Baron Cohen first met in the early 2000s at a party in Sydney, Australia. "She was hilarious", Baron Cohen recalled. "We were at a very pretentious party, and me and her bonded over taking the mick out of the other people in the party. I knew instantly. I don’t know if she did".

In December 2021, Fisher celebrated their relationship with a heartfelt Instagram post marking their 20th anniversary. "20 YEARS", she wrote, sharing a series of photos and quoting Winnie the Pooh: "If there ever comes a day when we can’t be together keep me in your heart. I’ll stay there forever".

As Isla Fisher and Sacha Baron Cohen navigate this new chapter, they remain committed to their children and appreciative of the support from their fans. Their relationship, filled with humor and deep connection, will be remembered fondly by those who followed their journey.
