With anticipation building for the fifth and final season of Netflix’s “Stranger Things,” the lead actress Millie Bobby Brown has a comforting message for viewers: “Be patient. It is worth it, I promise.” In speaking of the premiere of her Netflix film “The Electric State” on February 24, 2025, Brown pointed out the dedication of creators Matt and Ross Duffer and asked viewers to “let the Duffers do what they’ve been doing for the last 10 years so beautifully.”

The third and last season commenced production on January 8, 2024, following that production was hindered by industry-wide work stoppages. Production proceeded nearly a full year, wrapping up on December 20, 2024. The Duffer Brothers have hinted at a massive farewell, with Matt Duffer describing the season as “big and epic,” and Ross Duffer stating that even with the record-breaking magnitude, it will “feel familiar” as people return to Hawkins and collectively.

All of the cast is returning, featuring Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Millie Bobby Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Sadie Sink, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, Maya Hawke, Priah Ferguson, Cara Buono, and Brett Gelman. A notable addition is Linda Hamilton joining the cast, building excitement for the final episode.

In a trailer released on Stranger Things Day in November 2024, the fans learned season 5 will feature a time jump, which occurs in autumn of 1987. A missing persons notice for Brown’s character, Eleven, who has been missing since June of 1986, presents the characters with a puzzle to figure out.

Reflecting on the series’ conclusion, Brown shared an emotional farewell on social media, expressing her gratitude and love for the cast and crew. Co-star Sadie Sink echoed these sentiments, highlighting the difficulty of saying goodbye after a decade-long journey.

While the fans eagerly await the final season, the cast and producers assure them that the conclusion of the “Stranger Things” series will be a satisfying one, with a thrilling and emotional finale to the hit series.
