Hulu officially made the announcement that Nine Perfect Strangers’ Season 2 is premiering in Spring 2025. The much-awaited eight-episode season featuring and produced by Nicole Kidman moves away from the imaginary Cabrillo, California, to the breathtaking Austrian Alps, with a new and sinister chapter being added to the psychological drama.

Nine new strangers are brought together in ways they never could have dreamed by this season, to a distant wellness retreat run by the enigmatic Masha Dmitrichenko (Kidman). With the stunning but isolated backdrop of the Alps, the retreat will transform lives, but Masha’s unorthodox methods push her and her guests to their limits. The extreme change of setting introduces a new dynamic, exchanging the sunny, green landscapes of California for one that could heighten the psychological tension and emotional stakes. Through the radical healing techniques of Masha, the central question is always: Will they live through the process? And will she?

Kidman in Season 2 is complemented by an incredible cast, with Henry Golding, Lena Olin, Annie Murphy, Christine Baranski, Lucas Englander, King Princess, Murray Bartlett, Dolly de Leon, Maisie Richardson-Sellers, Mark Strong, and Aras Aydin in tow. With such a diverse and talented cast, fans can expect gripping performances and engaging character interactions that bring tension and drama of the show to new heights. The mix of veteran Hollywood actors and newcomers guarantees a season of psychological suspense and emotionally charged scenes.

At its September 2021 launch, Nine Perfect Strangers was Hulu’s most-watched original series of all genres, surpassing drama, comedy, and limited series genres. Originally planned as a single season limited series, its unprecedented success led Hulu to provide it with a longer shelf life, and Season 2 was one of the most anticipated streaming launches of 2025. The show continues to be housed under the leadership of key executive producers David E. Kelley, Nicole Kidman, Per Saari, Bruna Papandrea, Steve Hutensky, Molly Allen, Jonathan Levine, Rachel Shukert, Liane Moriarty, Matthew Tinker, Anthony Byrne, and John-Henry Butterworth.

Season 2 filming took place predominantly in Munich, Germany, and production wrapped up mid-2024. Henry Golding has confirmed the wrapping of filming, discussing his time with Kidman in Europe. The shift in location, along with a fresh cast and greater story, suggests a bold new direction for the show. The cold and remote setting of the Alps would enhance the show’s themes of solitude, self-discovery, and psychological breakdown to make it an even more tense experience.

With a new location, new actors, and larger storyline, Nine Perfect Strangers Season 2 is set to be just as engrossing as its first. Although it won’t be possible for fans to lay eyes on the second season until Spring 2025, all signs are pointing to this being another season of suspense, transformation, and jaw-dropping revelations.
