FX’s highly anticipated drama pilot Seven Sisters is assembling a powerhouse cast with the formal addition of New Amsterdam and The Blacklist alum Ryan Eggold. Eggold will portray the husband of Adrienne (Elizabeth Olsen), a former addict whose life is the focus of his extremely popular podcast. The casting completes the series-regular cast and adds another wrinkle into the emotionally tangled story.

Seven Sisters, from FX Productions, revolves around a large, close-knit family that begins to fall apart when Adrienne starts hearing an inexplicable voice that no one else can hear. This foreboding event triggers the unveiling of long-buried family secrets, stretching to the breaking point the ties that have held the family together for so long.

The talent is heavy in the cast. In addition to Olsen and Eggold, the titular sisters are Cristin Milioti (Palm Springs), Meredith Hagner (Search Party), Odessa Young (Shirley), Zoë Winters (Succession), Bridget Brown, and Carolyn Kettig. Philip Ettinger (I Know This Much Is True) will be their brother, and the family parents are veterans Anthony Edwards (ER) and J. Smith-Cameron (Succession).

The pilot is penned by Will Arbery, who is Emmy-nominated for his work on Succession, and directed by Sean Durkin, who most recently helmed the critically acclaimed film The Iron Claw. Garrett Basch, whose credits include The Night Of and What We Do in the Shadows, will executive produce alongside Arbery and Durkin.

Production is set to begin in Vancouver in mid-May and wrap in early June 2025. The pilot will premiere on FX and stream on Hulu in the United States, if picked up to series, and will be distributed internationally on Disney+.

Eggold is wrapping up a five-season run as the lead of NBC’s New Amsterdam, and he had a season-long villainous turn on Prime Video’s Cross last year. He also made his Broadway debut last fall, co-starring with Daniel Dae Kim in Yellow Face.

With its mix of psychological mystery, emotional drama, and A-list ensemble, Seven Sisters is shaping up to be one of the buzziest pilots of the year.
