Mel Owens's and Peg Munson's love is continuously flourishing. After finishing their adventure together on The Golden Bachelor—not engaged but yet committed—the former NFL player is toasting their romance.

"I saw our love grow all the way through, and it's special when it's with the right person," Mel said during the After the Final Rose program on November 12. "We spent some time together and shared some moments. We had some time, and one of my favorite things about her is her enthusiasm and get-up-and-go mentality.

Peg said that they are "in love," and that she and Mel intend to take the next step in their relationship at their own pace, without rushing toward an engagement.

“You know what’s nice about being in your 60s and going through life? You get to write your own love story—and we’re on the same page,” the 62-year-old shared. “That’s a love story the way that we get to do it.”

“And to continue to grow our love,” Peg added, “continue to spend time with our families, and that’s the nice part about being in our 60s in your golden years—being able to do what you want to with that connection you have with someone.”

Peg is overjoyed to be walking out in public after their season has ended.

"It's exciting," she commented. "We get to be out, and we get to share this."

Peg and Mel will continue to experience the highs of their romance as they travel to Las Vegas, Mel's hometown of Michigan, and attend the Super Bowl in California. Throughout it all, Peg is glad to have discovered her special someone.

"One thing I can say about Mel: he doesn't have integrity; he IS integrity," Peg exclaimed during the special. Let that sink in. That's one thing I adore about him."

Mel's search for love began in September, when he tried to connect with 23 different women. Ultimately, Peg and Cindy Cullers competed for the final rose. Cindy self-eliminated at the finale due to Mel's inability to commit, revealing the former NFL player's future with Peg.

"This represents our commitment to love," Mel told Peg, placing a diamond on her finger, "to give us time to figure out together what our future holds."

Peg explained that she and Mel are "on the same page" about their decision to move forward as partners, and Mel stated that his journey was worth the wait.

"Today is about fully committing to Peg,” the 66-year-old shared in his final confessional on the finale. “And our future together because I'm ready."
