Production has officially begun on Season 5 of The Lincoln Lawyer, and the new season is already building momentum with a mix of fresh faces and a storyline centered on family and justice.
The upcoming season adds eight new recurring cast members. These include Diane Guerrero as Natalia, Teresa Maria as Tina Perez, Richard Cabral as Benny Perez, and Steve Howey as Brian Cunningham. Also joining are Patty Guggenheim as Allison Finch, Corbin Bernsen as Richard Finch, Chris Diamantopoulos as Frank Silver, and Iker Garcia as Rafa Wagner. The introduction of characters tied to the Finch and Perez families suggests deeper connections that will likely play a key role in the story.
Cobie Smulders, who appeared in Season 4, has now been promoted to a series regular. She plays Artemisia Emi Finch, a woman who claims to be Mickey Haller’s long lost half sister. Her character becomes central to the new season’s plot, which begins when she asks Mickey for help in freeing a woman she believes was wrongfully convicted.
Season 5 will consist of ten episodes and is based on Resurrection Walk, the seventh book in The Lincoln Lawyer series by Michael Connelly. The story follows Mickey as he takes on a difficult habeas petition to overturn a six year old murder conviction. As he digs deeper into the case, he begins to uncover a much larger and more dangerous situation involving corruption and hidden forces working against him.
At the same time, the season explores Mickey’s personal life in a more serious way. The arrival of Emi forces him to confront a part of his family history he never knew about. This adds an emotional layer to the legal battle, as he tries to balance his responsibilities as a lawyer with the impact of these new family ties.
Mickey’s team also steps up this season. Lorna, Izzy, and Cisco take on bigger roles and face high profile challenges of their own. Their involvement shows how much the team has grown and how important they are to Mickey’s work.
Returning guest stars include Neve Campbell, Krista Warner, Angelica Maria, and Gigi Zumbado, helping maintain continuity with earlier seasons.
The show continues to be a strong performer for Netflix. Across its first four seasons, it has spent 29 weeks in the Global Top 10 and has reached 171 million views since 2023. Production has also remained based in Los Angeles, involving thousands of cast and crew members and dozens of filming locations.
With a mix of new characters, a complex legal case, and a more personal storyline, Season 5 of The Lincoln Lawyer is shaping up to be one of its most intense and character driven seasons so far.
