In a bombshell revelation from the new book "House of Beckham," it has been claimed that Victoria Beckham "punched" her then-fiancé David Beckham upon discovering his alleged infidelity while she was pregnant with their first child, Brooklyn, in 1998. The incident, detailed by author Tom Bower, sheds light on a turbulent period in the Beckhams' high-profile relationship.

Victoria Beckham, formerly known as Posh Spice of the Spice Girls, reportedly attacked David after he confessed over the phone about reports of him kissing another woman. This disclosure occurred while Victoria was on tour with her band. The physical confrontation happened when Victoria saw David for the first time after the allegations surfaced. In her 2001 autobiography "Learning to Fly," she admitted, “ went straight up to him and just swung at him, punched him. I hadn’t planned it. I hadn’t punched anybody before. Just instinct. I just felt angry and hurt” .

In an attempt to repair their relationship, Victoria and David took a trip to Lake Como, Italy. This effort proved successful, as they were able to move past the incident. Victoria gave birth to Brooklyn on March 4, 1999, and the couple married later that year on July 4, 1999, at Luttrellstown Castle in Dublin, Ireland.

Despite this early hiccup, allegations of David's infidelities continued throughout their marriage. One of the most notable accusations came from Rebecca Loos, David’s former assistant. In April 2004, Loos claimed she had an affair with David while he played for Real Madrid the previous year. This revelation came less than five years after the Beckhams' wedding and shortly after the birth of their second son, Romeo, on September 1, 2002. Loos stated, “It was wrong to do what I did, I know that, but it did happen and I’m not going to live a lie for the rest of my life”  .

David vehemently denied the allegations, calling them "ludicrous." In a public statement, he said, “During the past few months, I have become accustomed to reading more and more ludicrous stories about my private life. What appeared this morning is just one further example. The simple truth is that I am very happily married and have a wonderful wife and two very special kids. There is nothing any third party can do to change this” .

Victoria and David have both reflected on the impact of these scandals on their marriage. In the 2023 Netflix docuseries "Beckham," Victoria opened up about the turmoil she experienced during the period of the alleged affair with Loos. “It was the most unhappy I have ever been in my entire life,” she said. “It felt like the world was against us. We were against each other, if I’m being completely honest… But when we were in Spain, it didn’t really feel like we had each other, either, and that’s sad” .

David also shared his perspective, highlighting the strain the accusations placed on their relationship. “I don’t know how we got through it, in all honesty. Victoria is everything to me. To see her hurt was incredibly difficult, but we’re fighters and at that time we needed to fight for each other. We needed to fight for our family, and what we had was worth fighting for”  .

Despite the numerous challenges and public scrutiny, Victoria and David Beckham have managed to maintain their marriage, demonstrating resilience and commitment to their family. Their story, marked by both public and private battles, underscores the complexities of high-profile relationships and the enduring strength of their partnership.
