Netflix is clearly embracing a bombastic summer spectacle in the vein of Amazon’s’The Tomorrow War’, with the new film ‘Atlas’.That is, original sci-fi flicks with hefty production budgets and killer casts make up for the pastiche of well-trodden ideas. After a teaser trailer for Atlas was released with an interesting cast to say, Netflix has put the pedal to the metal in the official trailer for the upcoming sci-fi action adventure movie.

DreamWorks animation has done it again. In a triumphant turn of events, Kung Fu Panda 4 has made its way to the top, smashing box office records and leaving audiences in awe. The beloved franchise, which kicked off its animated journey back in 2008, has now surpassed the $2 billion mark, solidifying its place as the seventh highest-grossing animated franchise in cinematic history.

Barbie, directed by Greta Gerwig, may have been the most successful movie ever to be directed by a female filmmaker and the highest grossing film of 2023, but it was overthrown at the box office in Italy by another film that is still directed by a woman and speaks directly about the female experience.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson recently gave fans an exciting glimpse into the making of “Moana 2” by sharing behind-the-scenes images of himself in the recording booth. The original “Moana”, released in 2016, captured hearts worldwide and became a beloved Disney animated film. Now, the adventure continues with a proper feature film sequel.

Some of the greatest movies ever made are fully animated, and the art form has garnered such prestige over time that a feature-length work is often expected to be more than just a long cartoon. Walt Disney’s Snow White and the Seven Dwarves showcased that animated films could gain more commercial and critical success. Then came Fantasia In 1940, which showed that possibilities are more and less endless for the art form.

The Russo Brothers, known for their work in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, have exciting plans beyond the superhero realm. One of their ongoing projects Is the Extraction franchise, which stars Chris Hemsworth as the emotionally wounded mercenary Tyler Rake. The first two films, directed by Sam Hargrave, have been successful on Netflix, and now fans can look forward to a third installment.
